Victoria Symphony
New Currents Festival of Music
Thursday Jan 25 - Saturday Jan 27, 2007
Designed to showcase the everchanging nature of orchestral music, the Victoria Symphony's second annual New Currents Festival presents a riveting selection of powerful and innovative works exploring how music moves us physically, intellectually, emotionally and spiritually.
Suddenly Dance joins an overall festival featuring pianist Eve Egoyan, Russian composer Galina Ustvolskaya, and Messiaen's Quartet For The End of Time.
Suddenly Dance performs one night only:
Saturday Jan 27, 2007
HOMING: Lori Hamar's collaboration featuring Roderick Glanville, Jung-Ah Chung, Brandy Baybutt, Stacey Horton.
DUET: Jung-Ah Chung choreographs and performs a duet with a sculpture by internationally reknowned artist Roland Brener.
NATURE ECSTASY: David Ferguson and Miles Lowry's NATURE ECSTASY facilitates the creation of original music as it is a silent film made for live musical interpretation. This provides the opportunity to collect musical compositions throughout the video’s existence. This version will be interpreted by Composer Giorgio Magnanensi, with members of the Victoria Symphony.
